Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Harmony Grove Road (Route 4014) bridge spanning Conewago Creek between Detters Mill Road and Conewago Road in Dover and Warrington townships, York County, is open to traffic.
The bridge was closed in July for preservation work. A detour associated with the closure has been lifted.
This work is part of a two-bridge contract that includes replacing the Carlisle Road (Route 74) bridge spanning Conewago Creek between Alpine Road and Conewago Road in Dover and Warrington townships.
Route 74 bridge construction is expected to begin next spring. There will be a detour of up to 240 days when that occurs.
Work also includes bridge approach reconstruction, scarification and hydro-demolition of bridge deck, concrete repairs, temporary access road and creek crossing construction, bridge demolition, new guide rail, drainage and other miscellaneous construction.
Kinsley Construction, LLC, of York, PA is the contractor on this $7,089,975 project. Work is expected to be completed by November 16, 2026.
