📢 Duboistown Borough – Sewer Budget Overview
Our Sewer Budget works just like a household budget — it has Revenue (income) and Expenses (bills). Here’s how it’s funded and where your sewer payments go:
💰 Revenue Sources
• Sewer Tap Fee – A one-time charge for new or expanding customers to connect to the Borough’s sewer system. This fee helps cover the cost of building and maintaining the infrastructure and securing treatment capacity.
• Sewer Billing Fee – An ongoing charge for all residents and businesses to cover the cost of collecting, treating, and safely disposing of wastewater. This includes maintenance, facility operations, and administration.
📈 Current Sewer Rate
• Monthly Fee: $80.00
• Annual Rate (with 5% discount): $912 per EDU
🔧 Why the Rate Increased in 2024 (there was no increase in 2025)
• Rising operational costs
• Increased regulatory requirements
• Project work related to street paving
• Funding for aging sewer system improvements
Your sewer payments ensure our system stays safe, reliable, and ready for the future.
