General Requirements

Candidates at the time of application must:

· Posses high school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED)

· Must posses valid Act 120 certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Municipal Police Officer’s Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) upon hire. This means you must have completed the ACT 120 training requirements at the time of hire. Out of state officers, who have completed their police academy training outside of Pennsylvania must be eligible for a waiver of training from MPOETC. · Be a United Stated Citizen.

· Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer.

· Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

· Have a valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to successfully pass a background examination.

· Be a resident of Elizabeth Township, or upon appointment, become a resident of Elizabeth Township within one 18 months of employment. Residency requirement may be extended at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

· Eligible to use RMS, NCIC, CLEAN, JNET

Application must be filed before 12:00 pm on Monday September 29, 2025, either in person or by US Mail. Late applications will not be accepted.

A physical agility test will be conducted at the Elizabeth Forward High School located at 1000 Weigles Hill Road Elizabeth, PA 15037 on Saturday October 4, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. The written examination will immediately follow. Upon successful completion of both, the candidate will be scheduled to attend an oral board at a date to be determined. An eligibility list in ranking order will then be determined by the Elizabeth Township Civil Commission Board.

General Information

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting pay is based off of 2025 ETPD Collective Bargaining Agreement. New hires must be Township residents after 18 months of service. New hire will serve a one-year term of probation. New hire will be required to successfully complete the ETPD Field Training Program regardless of law enforcement experience.
