PUBLIC NOTICE
The Village of Tannersville has received reports of increased rodent activity in recent months. While this is a concern, please be assured that the Village is taking proactive steps to address the issue and support both residents and businesses. I have personally contacted the Greene County Public Health Office and other citizens with my concerns.
Immediate Measures in Place:
• For Businesses:
All businesses are asked to take prompt action to address and remediate any rodent activity on their property. This should include working with an extermination service to ensure facilities remain free of pests. In addition, in compliance with public health and safety standards, all garbage must be securely stored in steel dumpsters with tight fitting lids. Please note: open plastic bags, boxes, or other exposed sources of food or litter are not permitted.
• For Residents:
The Village will provide rodent bait boxes at no cost to homeowners and residents. These will be distributed directly by the Village to help manage and reduce rodent activity throughout our neighborhoods. We also ask that all households remain vigilant by securing trash, removing potential food sources, and promptly use the traps provided. All Receptacles must be secured properly and no waste whatsoever shall be left on curbs, streets, alleyways. This situation was precipitated by the prior administrations lack of action and elected duties. We are now proactively working to correct, their irresponsible lack of care in this matter.
The Village is committed to addressing this situation quickly and effectively, and with your cooperation, we will ensure the health and safety of our community. A informational sheet is included with this notice.
