We have been made aware of an ongoing scam where individuals are posing as federal agents and spoofing the Lake Helen Police Department's phone number: 386-228-2145.
These scammers may claim they are connecting you to a federal agent and request payments over the phone via Western Union, gift cards, or other non-traditional methods.
Please be advised:
The Lake Helen Police Department does NOT transfer calls to other agencies.
We will NEVER request payment over the phone.
All fines or fees must be paid in person at either the Police Department or City Hall.
If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from our department, we strongly encourage you to speak with an officer directly or visit our office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Your safety and security are our top priority. Please share this information with friends and family to help prevent further victimization.
