Description
Flash Flood Warning issued July 16 at 4:58PM EDT until July 16 at 6:45PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 458 PM EDT, the public and doppler radar reported thunderstorms
produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches
of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Pittsburgh, Bethel Park, McKeesport, West Mifflin, Baldwin,
Whitehall, South Park Township, Munhall, Jefferson Hills, North
Versailles, Brentwood, Pleasant Hills, White Oak, Clairton,
Duquesne, Glassport, Homestead, Liberty, Port Vue and East
Mckeesport.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
