Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 8 at 5:13PM EDT until July 8 at 5:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 513 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Gilbertsville to Pughtown, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Pottstown, Phoenixville, Collegeville, Royersford, Trappe, East
Greenville, Schwenksville, Bechtelsville, Green Lane, Pughtown,
Spring Mount, Chester Springs, Geryville, Gilbertsville, Cedarville,
Stowe, Boyertown, Pennsburg, Spring City, and Red Hill.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
