Description
Please be advised that Meadowbrook Avenue from Bonair Avenue to the rear parking lot entrance of Jacksonville Green Apartments (301 Jacksonville Road) is closed to vehicular traffic as a result of a water main replacement project being performed by Aqua. This closure is expected to be in effect for the next two weeks (until approximately July 21, 2025.) Aqua indicated that this closure was a requirement of SEPTA and that they hope to reopen the road sooner than currently scheduled. If there are any changes to the closure, the Borough of Hatboro will notify residents accordingly.
This road closure was unfortunately made without notification to the Borough nor residents in the area. Aqua has assured the Borough that they will keep an open line of communication regarding future work associated with this project so we can keep residents, emergency services, and the Hatboro Horsham School District updated.
This closure is in accordance with the large water main replacement project taking place on Meadowbrook Avenue, Drummers Way, North Penn Street, Summit Avenue, and Oakdale Avenue. All impacted residents within the area were mailed a copy of the below notice directly from Aqua in June 2025.
Aqua has stated that there are no other road closures planned for the duration of this project. Aqua will be using temporary traffic control measures including the use of flaggers when working on the remaining streets. Residents, emergency services, school buses, mail carriers, and Public Works will have access to the impacted streets while work is taking place. There may be times when access to individual driveways is limited when drilling is taking place immediately in front of your home; however, Aqua will do the best to accommodate everyone in the area.
As noted above, Aqua will immediately notify the Borough of Hatboro and emergency services if there are any changes to their scope of work and/or if they need to make any other road closures while work is taking place. Aqua will also notify customers directly if and when there are any service interruptions to their properties.
