Description
Flash Flood Warning issued July 6 at 4:29PM CDT until July 6 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
At 429 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Burnet, Bertram,
Serenada, Anderson Mill, Leander, Lakeway, Lago Vista, Hudson
Bend, Liberty Hill, Jarrell, Florence, Andice, Mahomet, Joppa,
Oatmeal and Briggs.
Through 415 PM CDT the heaviest rains fell in the Briarcliff,
Liberty Hill, Andice areas and also areas near the headwaters of Cow
Creek and Hamilton Creek.
Through 530 PM CDT, the heaviest rains are expected to fall over
Lago Vista, Cedar Park, Leander, Lakeway, and Jarrell areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
