The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Travis County in south central Texas...
Southwestern Williamson County in south central Texas...

* Until 430 PM CDT.

* At 130 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain western Travis County. Between
1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...LCRA gauges reporting between 1.5-1.75 inches in the
past hour in western Travis County.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Anderson Mill,
Leander, Lakeway, Lago Vista, Bee Cave, Hudson Bend, The Hills,
Mansfield Dam, Jonestown, Briarcliff, Point Venture, Volente,
Jollyville and Brushy Creek.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
