Description
Flash Flood Warning issued July 1 at 5:21PM EDT until July 1 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 521 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain. At Westley Road in Mohnton, a water rescue was
reported. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected
rainfall rate is 0.75 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Reading, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Wyomissing, Birdsboro,
Royersford, Sinking Spring, Laureldale, Wernersville, Elverson,
New Morgan and Cedarville.
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
