Description
Despite the hot days we have had a lot of rain so far this year, and often times rain water can gather around your home in different places. Left alone the water turns stagnant.
Stagnant water can then breed mosquitoes, and as such is a code violation.
Some common problem areas are:
-bird baths (if dirty)
-loose tarps
-empty planters
-rain barrels (without mosquito proof mesh)
-tree holes
-wheelbarrows & garden equipment
-clogged gutters & flat roofs
-neglected pools
-waste tires
-neglected landscape ponds
Taking steps to eliminate these common mosquito breeding sites will help not only you, but also everyone who lives in Crafton. Spread the word so that your neighbors take the same steps and everyone will benefit from fewer bites and a lower risk of mosquito-borne disease. Mosquitoes require as little as a teaspoon of water to breed, so it’s important to eliminate any standing water sources around your home.
