Heat Advisory issued June 25 at 4:22PM EDT until June 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 100.
* WHERE...Beaver, Fayette, Washington, Allegheny, Butler, and
Westmoreland Counties.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A continuation of heat indices peaking near
100 each day with overnight lows above 70 will contribute to
cumulative heat stress. Storms during the day may temporarily
alleviate heat is some areas, but most areas will see some
impacts. The most impactful period will be from noon to 6pm
Thursday and Friday.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
