Description
Flash Flood Warning issued June 15 at 6:43PM EDT until June 15 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 643 PM EDT, doppler radar and the public reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to
0.7 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Penn Hills, Monroeville, McKeesport, Plum, West Mifflin,
Murrysville, Wilkinsburg, Munhall, North Versailles, Swissvale,
O'hara Township, White Oak, Forest Hills, Wilkins Township,
Oakmont, Duquesne, Fox Chapel, Turtle Creek and North Braddock.
Flooded roads were reported west of Murrysville.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
