Description
The Crafton Administrative Staff received several resident concerns about coyotes in the last few days. While Crafton Borough does not provide trapping or removal services, we want to help you keep your family and pets safe!
Keep Coyotes Away with these tips:
Keep garbage properly contained
Don't feed pets outside or leave pet food outdoors
Keep grills cleaned and covered
Remove standing water (old tires, watering cans)
Clean up fallen fruit from trees
Remove bird feeders (that can attract birds which coyotes hunt)
Dispose of dead wildlife properly
Trim shrubbery and clear brushy areas where prey animals hide
Secure areas under decks, sheds, and crawl spaces
Use motion-sensor lights to spot them
DON'T be intimidated! Use "hazing" - throw objects, raise your arms, yell, or spray with a hose to make them feel unwelcome
