Description
Flash Flood Warning issued May 21 at 6:36PM EDT until May 21 at 8:30PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 636 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that rain had ended across
the warned area. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly. At 5:46 PM, it was reported that Crane Avenue was flooded
near Route 51.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville,
McKeesport, West Mifflin, Baldwin, Upper St. Clair, Scott
Township, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall, South Park Township, Robinson
Township, Munhall, Jefferson Hills, North Versailles, Brentwood,
Swissvale and Dormont.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
