Description
Flash Flood Warning issued May 3 at 9:28PM EDT until May 3 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ

At 928 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy
rain across the warned area earlier this evening, but rain has since
ended. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Wilmington, Newark, Chester, Westtown, Swarthmore, Elsmere,
Kennett Square, Newport, Arden, Talleyville, Elam and Concordville.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 12.
Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 7.
Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 5 and 23.

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
