URGENT: Storm Damage Safety Alert for Crafton Borough

SAFETY ALERT: Significant Storm Damage Throughout Crafton Borough
The severe storm that moved through Crafton Borough last night has left behind numerous hazards including downed trees and live electrical wires. For your safety, please be aware of the following dangerous areas and closures:
Current Closures and Hazardous Areas:
• Clearview Trail: CLOSED from East Crafton Boulevard Steps to the Eagle Scout Shelter near the Harris Steps due to downed live wires
• Belvidere Street to Richmond Street Steps: CLOSED due to downed wires and trees
• Belvidere Street: Large tree down with live electrical wires
• 1500 Block of Barr Avenue: Very large fallen tree - area should be avoided
• Desoto Street: Trees down with downed wires
IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER:
Always assume ANY downed wire is live and dangerous. Do not approach or touch downed wires or trees that may be in contact with electrical wires.
What To Do:
• Stay at least 30 feet away from any downed wire
• Report downed wires to Duquesne Light at 412-393-7000 or call 911
• Do not attempt to remove debris yourself
• Follow all posted detour signs and barricades
• Check on elderly neighbors who may need assistance
