Description
Wesleyville’s Council President Honored with Statewide Award!
Out of 956 boroughs across the Commonwealth, Wesleyville’s very own President Regina Julius has been named the Outstanding Council Member of the Year by the PA State Association of Boroughs (PSAB)!

Please join us in congratulating President Julius on this monumental achievement.

Mrs. Julius has dedicated her life to service. Before joining Borough Council, she spent her career working with Erie County’s Office of Children and Youth, where she served until retirement. Throughout that time, she raised her family in Wesleyville and witnessed firsthand the deteriorating condition of the community’s parks. Due to her role with the County, she was disallowed from participating in Borough affairs—so her family made do with what was available at the time.

But the moment she retired, she jumped in headfirst—improving local parks became her personal mission. And, she’s been a driving force in the Borough ever since.

Today, though her children are grown and her own family no longer directly benefits from those improvements, she continues her tireless work to ensure that no family in the Borough has to face unsafe, outdated park facilities again.

And what a transformation it has been—a true generational shift:
- Memorial Park – Fully reconstructed with brand-new playground equipment, a parking lot, and ADA-accessible features.
- Hinkler Park – Upgraded playground, new permanent restrooms, paved parking lot, and pavilion – all ADA accessible.
- Morrison Park – Plans in place for full reconstruction with a $60,000 grant already secured.

Parks have been her passion, but President Julius’s impact goes far beyond parks. Whenever there’s a need, she steps up:
- During times of staff turnover, she’s there to help with transitions.
- For community events, she’s involved in planning and is always present on the day to volunteer.
- To show appreciation for Borough staff, she hosts employee picnics and potluck lunches.

And she does all of this without any compensation—entirely as a volunteer.

Wesleyville is truly fortunate to have such a dedicated, selfless public servant.

Let’s celebrate this incredible recognition and hope that President Julius continues to serve our Borough for many years to come.

Congratulations to PSAB’s Outstanding Council Member of the Year, President Regina Julius!
