Description
IN PROGRESS – Hinkler Park Restrooms
Work is currently underway at Hinkler Park to install utilities and prepare the foundation for the addition of permanent restrooms. The restroom unit, pictured here, has been completed and will be delivered and craned into place on the foundation in the coming weeks. Additionally, the old, deteriorated bathroom building at the top of the hill near the exit ramp has been removed. This building had been out of service for some time and was both inaccessible and inconvenient for park users.
For years, the Borough has relied on portable restrooms to serve the park during the summer months. This new, permanent facility will improve the visitor experience and reduce costs associated with rental units. This project was made possible through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR).
Over the past five years, Hinkler Park has undergone numerous improvements, including a new playground, parking lot, and restrooms—along with a newly rebuilt pavilion, which will replace the original one that collapsed during Snowmageddon. The Borough remains committed to enhancing this beloved community space along the creek!
