Special Weather Statement issued March 27 at 10:10AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
.ELEVATED THREAT FOR RAPID FIRE SPREAD THIS AFTERNOON...
A combination of dry and gusty conditions this afternoon will create
an elevated risk of wildfire across Western Pennsylvania.
Minimum relative humidity are forecast to range between 20%-30%
and wind gusts up to 20-25 mph.
Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential
ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or
matches/lighters. If dry grasses and tree litter are ignited, the
fire will have the potential to spread rapidly.
