Trees are a leading cause of power outages—especially during storms. That’s why PECO proactively manages vegetation to enhance reliability, improve safety, and support infrastructure upgrades. Our work includes preventive pruning and, when necessary, tree removal to protect overhead power lines and enhance reliability.
Trees and other vegetation are key contributors to approximately 40% of all electric service interruptions. Preventive pruning by PECO helps keep trees and powerlines at a safe distance.
