Red Flag Warning issued March 19 at 1:16AM CDT until March 19 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
...GUSTY WINDS AND VERY DRY AIR WILL RESULT IN CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS FROM EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH EVENING...
.A Pacific front will quickly advance across the region early to
mid-morning. Strong northwesterly winds and very dry air in its
wake will bring critical fire weather conditions to all of South
Central Texas. Sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 30
to 45 mph will coincide with minimum relative humidity values of
5 to 18 percent and dry to extremely dry fuels.
* AFFECTED AREA...All of South-Central Texas.
* TIMING...From 5 AM early this morning to 9 PM CDT this evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 30 to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 15 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Mid 70s to low to mid 80s.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will rapidly increase in size
and intensity, move quickly, and be very difficult to control.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
