Special Weather Statement issued March 16 at 4:16PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Shunk to Laurelton Center. Movement was
northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Elimsport, Kettle Creek Gorge, Winfield, Montoursville, Allenwood,
Williamsport Airport, R.B. Winter State Park, West Milton,
Forksville, Montandon, Forest Hill, Hartleton, Hillsgrove, Sand
Bridge State Park, Williamsport, New Berlin, Vicksburg, Watsontown,
McEwensville, and Lincoln Falls.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for central and
north central Pennsylvania.
