Description
Red Flag Warning issued March 15 at 2:21PM CDT until March 15 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

...Elevated to Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Today...

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected across
the large majority of Southeast Texas. Skies have cleared,
temperatures have warmed into the 70s and low 80s, humidities have
fallen into the teens and low 20s, and west winds are gusting
between 25-40mph. Wind speeds and gustiness should diminish after
sunset.

Though winds will not be as strong on Sunday, elevated fire
weather conditions will still prevail as humidity falls back into
the teens and 20s during the late morning and afternoon hours.

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR
STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES FOR MOST OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 16 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Up to 82.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that start could rapidly increase in size
and intensity, and move quickly. Outdoor burning is not
recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.

Exercise extra caution with respect to all outdoor activities
that could inadvertently cause wildfires.

Report wildfires quickly to local officials such as fire
department or law enforcement office.
