Description
Red Flag Warning issued March 7 at 1:35PM CST until March 8 at 8:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

...BREEZY AND DRY BEHIND A COLD FRONT SATURDAY WILL RESULT IN
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS...

.A cold front will move through South-Central Texas from west to
east Saturday between midnight and noon. This boundary will bring
much drier air and breezy northwesterly winds. Relative humidity
will drop below 20% from the western Hill Country, southern I-35
Corridor, and western Coastal Plains to the Rio Grande. Winds
will be 15-25 mph with higher gusts up to 35 mph during the
afternoon and early evening. This will result in the likelihood of
critical fire weather conditions.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather conditions, which is
in effect from noon to 8 PM CST Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch
is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREAS...Western two thirds of South Central Texas

* TIMING...From noon to 8 PM CST Saturday.

* WINDS...Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10-20 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop may rapidly increase in size
and intensity, move quickly, and be very difficult to control.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
