Cold Weather Advisory issued February 18 at 1:32PM CST until February 19 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, north winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts
up to 35 mph expected. For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very
cold wind chills as low as 16 expected. For the second Cold
Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 9 above expected.
* WHERE...De Witt, Fayette, Gonzales, Karnes, Lavaca, and Wilson
Counties.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory and first Cold Weather Advisory, from
midnight tonight to noon CST Wednesday. For the second Cold
Weather Advisory, from midnight Wednesday Night to noon CST
Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Wind
chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Secure outdoor objects.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
