Lake Effect Snow Warning issued February 17 at 5:55PM EST until February 19 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow. Additional snow
accumulations 10 to 18 inches in the most persistent lake snows.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph this evening, producing areas of
blowing snow.
* WHERE...Orleans and Monroe Counties, mainly across northern
portions of the counties near the Lake Ontario shoreline.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult in lake effect snow and in
areas of blowing snow this evening.
Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
