Winter Storm Warning issued February 8 at 2:52PM EST until February 9 at 12:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
11 inches and ice accumulations a light glaze for areas well south
of Albany. Highest snowfall amounts from around I-90 north.
* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to noon EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous travel is expected. Avoid any unnecessary
travel tonight into Sunday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will increase in intensity this evening,
with snowfall rates reaching maximum rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour. Snow may mix with sleet or freezing drizzle well south of
Albany after midnight. The precipitation will taper off Sunday
morning.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
