...FLOOD WATCH CANCELLED FOR KAUAI COUNTY...
...FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR OAHU, MAUI COUNTY AND BIG ISLAND
THROUGH 6 PM HST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Big Island.
* WHEN...Through this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The flood threat continues for Maui County early this
morning. Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed
due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas may
receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid
runoff.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A strong winter low pressure system passing north of the
state is pulling a strong cold front across the eastern half
of the island chain. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms
developing along and ahead of the front will introduce the
highest potential for flash flooding in Maui County and Big
Island through this afternoon.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
