Flash Flood Warning issued January 30 at 9:00PM HST until January 30 at 9:30PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI

At 900 PM HST, the Maui Emergency Management Agency reported that
South Kihei Road has been closed due to flooding. Flooding is also
occurring in Lahaina. Rainfall is expected to continue moving over
Maui from the southwest over the next several hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management.

IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible
in steep terrain.

This warning includes the entire island of Maui.

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even
if they are currently dry.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
