High Wind Warning issued January 27 at 12:54PM EST until January 28 at 6:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. The
strongest winds are expected across Niagara, Orleans, and Genesee
counties, where isolated 70 mph gusts are possible.
* WHERE...Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Genesee, Wyoming, and
Chautauqua Counties.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines. Dead
ash trees will be especially susceptible. Scattered power outages
are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles.
Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees. If possible,
remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
