Cold Weather Advisory issued January 24 at 1:34PM EST until January 25 at 8:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 27 expected. For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures
as low as 31 expected.
* WHERE...Inland Volusia, Northern Lake, and Southern Lake.
* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged
exposure.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older
family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used
correctly.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
