Lake Effect Snow Warning issued January 20 at 5:03AM EST until January 20 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 4 to
8 inches in the most persistent lake snows. The greatest amounts
will be north of Route 104.
* WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, and Monroe Counties.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult with slippery, snow covered
roadways. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning
commute.
During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
