Winter Storm Warning issued January 19 at 1:53PM EST until January 20 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Albany NY

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches.

* WHERE...The mid-Hudson Valley, eastern Catskills, central and
southern Taconics, and the Rensselaer Plateau in eastern New York,
western Massachusetts, northwest Connecticut, and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to
impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are
likely, mainly from 4PM to 12AM tonight. Increasing northwest
winds gusting up to 20mph after Midnight tonight combined with
chilly temperatures will result in wind chills or "feel-like
temperatures" in the single digits with sub-zero readings for
elevations 1000 feet and higher.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
