Winter Storm Warning issued January 19 at 3:22AM EST until January 20 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
8 inches.
* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts, east central New York, and southern Vermont.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to
impossible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are
likely early this evening.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
