Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued January 10 at 5:12AM HST until January 10 at 5:30AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI

At 511 AM HST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Lahaina to 5 miles southwest of Haleakala
National Park, moving southwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to roofs
and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Kahului, Honokohau, Haliimaile, Kipahulu, Wailuku, Makawao, Paia,
Keokea, Olowalu, Wailea, Waihee, and Kaanapali.

This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage across Maui with numerous measured wind gusts of 55 to
nearly 70 mph. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay
away from windows.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
