Cold Weather Advisory issued January 8 at 2:15PM EST until January 9 at 8:00AM EST by NWS Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as
28 expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 21 expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Levy, Inland Citrus, and Inland Levy Counties.
* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, from 1 AM to 9 AM EST Thursday. For
the Cold Weather Advisory, from 4 AM to 8 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with
prolonged exposure. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops,
other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
