Description
Snow Squall Warning issued January 3 at 5:02PM EST until January 3 at 5:15PM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 502 PM EST, a hazardous snow squall was located along a line from
near Youngwood to over Monongahela, or along a line from 5 miles
south of Greensburg to 7 miles southeast of Gastonville, moving east
at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially hazardous
within minutes.

Greensburg, Jeannette, Jefferson Hills, Donora, Mount Pleasant,
Scottdale, Monongahela, Youngwood, West Newton, New Stanton,
Wickerham Manor-Fisher, Elizabeth, Calumet-Norvelt, Lincoln,
Everson, Sutersville, West Elizabeth, Smithton, Madison and Arona.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 46 and 57.
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 68 and 83.
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes
your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra
time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead
to accidents.
