Description
Snow Squall Warning issued January 3 at 1:41PM EST until January 3 at 2:00PM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 141 PM EST, a snow squall was located along a line from over
Franklin to near Calcutta, or along a line from over Franklin to 7
miles northwest of East Liverpool, moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially hazardous
within minutes.
Locations impacted include...
New Castle, East Liverpool, Oil City, Beaver Falls, Grove City,
Franklin, Columbiana, East Palestine, Ellwood City,
Homeacre-Lyndora, New Brighton, Sugarcreek, Shanor-Northvue,
Beaver, Calcutta, Zelienople, Rochester, Slippery Rock, Ohioville
and Midland.
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this hazardous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
Reduce your speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the
visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
