* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. New snow accumulations of
12 to 24 inches through Thursday afternoon with intermittent lake
effect snow bands through the weekend that may bring totals up to
2 to 3 feet. The most favored locations for the highest totals
will be the higher elevation areas of southern and eastern Erie

mph should produce blowing snow.
* WHERE...Erie and Crawford Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM Wednesday to 7 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult at times due to deep snow
cover on roads and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions may
impact the morning and evening commutes on Wednesday through
Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Widespread rain will change to snow Wednesday
morning, with lake-enhancement of the snow expected by daybreak.
Lake-enhanced snow will give way to periods of lake-effect snow
Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. The lake-effect snow should
shift north of the area for a time on Thursday before additional
periods of lake-effect snow return this Friday through weekend.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel
restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.511pa.com for
