Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 12 at 4:20AM EST until December 13 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 6 and 12 inches, with isolated amounts of up to 16 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Plan on slippery road
conditions and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow will become more organized
this morning and move onshore. The heaviest snow will occur in
northern portions of the county through early afternoon when
snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely. The band will
shift offshore during the mid afternoon and evening before lighter
snow returns tonight.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
