Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 10 at 9:37PM EST until December 12 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
between 6 and 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...From 4 PM Wednesday to 4 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow showers will transition to lake effect
snow on Wednesday night. Snow may be heavy at times Wednesday
night with rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. This snow band is
forecast to shift north over Lake Erie during the day on Thursday.
The duration of heavy snow will depend on the timing and placement
of this band. Lighter snow may return on Thursday night.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
