VALLEY WASTE IS COMING IN 2025
Crafton Borough has contracted Valley Waste Services, Inc., as the provider for the Borough’s residential Solid Waste and Recycle Collection Service, under a 5-year contract. We are committed to ensuring the smoothest transition as we change providers from Waste Management to Valley Waste beginning in January of 2025. In early December, homeowners and residents should receive the Valley Waste Guidelines and Street Listing via postal mail.
There are a few big changes coming to how Crafton Residents will be putting out their trash and recycle:
1. Crafton will no longer have single day Borough Wide pickup on Tuesdays. Streets will be organized into four different days for pick up throughout the Borough (Tuesday through Friday). Make sure to take a look at the Street Listing and/or Street Map to ensure when your pickup day is. Some addresses may have pickup on a day that is different from their neighbor due to special circumstances.
2. Five (5) bag limit for regular trash, with a 40 lb maximum per bag. Residents will be able to purchase additional bag tags over the phone through Valley Waste Services, Inc. These are sold in sets of five for $10.00. To reduce the additional costs, we encourage our residents to utilize the multitude of recycling options through Valley Waste, as well as through local organizations. We have taken to time to compile an extensive list of recycling options, which is listed below.
3. Valley Waste Services, Inc. offers pre-scheduled monthly pickup of E-Waste, White Waste, and quarterly pickup of Household Hazardous Waste. Residents will need to call ahead for this service.
4. Missed pick-ups must be reported directly to Valley Waste Services, Inc. within 24 hours. You can report your missed collection at (724) 843-9373.
