Lake Effect Snow Warning issued November 30 at 9:42PM EST until December 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 12
to 24 inches across northern Erie County tonight through Tuesday
morning, with 10 to 20 inches in southern Erie County. This would
bring storm totals of 4 to 6 feet in northern Erie County. Locally
higher amounts are possible, especially in northern Erie County.

* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are
expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially
life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible,
especially in northern Erie County where 30 to 45 inches of snow
has already fallen in many areas. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy lake effect snow is expected to move
back onshore across northern Erie County early Sunday morning. The
snow will reach southern Erie County by late Sunday morning.
Snowfall rates will reach 1 to 2 inches per hour at times Sunday
through Tuesday morning. The highest accumulations are expected
along the I-90 corridor and north.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel
restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.511pa.com for
the latest travel, roadway, and traffic conditions.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
