Red Flag Warning issued November 15 at 6:15PM EST until November 16 at 6:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Red Flag Warning
for critical fire weather conditions, which is in effect from 7 AM
to 6 PM EST Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* Affected Area...Portions of the Hudson Valley and Catskill FDRA,
including the following counties: Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer,
Columbia, Greene, Ulster, Dutchess, Sullivan, northeast portions
of Schoharie, eastern portions of Montgomery, and southeast
portions of Delaware.
* Timing...From 7 AM to 6 PM EST Saturday.
* Winds...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 25 percent.
* Temperatures...In the 50s.
* Impacts...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are
either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute
to extreme fire behavior.
