Join Our Trail Study Committee!
Are you passionate about outdoor adventures, walking, hiking, and/or biking? Come share your thoughts and experiences and help the community create a plan for the Borough’s trails. Crafton Borough has been awarded a grant from the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) to be used towards a trail study that will assess the existing trails in the Borough and provide recommendations on how to improve and better connect them. We’re looking for up to 10 enthusiastic Crafton Borough residents to help us oversee and provide feedback on a consultant provided study for improving our local trails. Preference will be given to those who are not currently involved or have not been recently involved with a Crafton Borough committee.
What’s Going to Happen?
• Once members of the study committee have been established, Crafton Borough will put out a Request for Proposal (RFP) to receive bids by consultants for putting together the trail study.
• During the time the RFP is out to bid, at least one meeting will be held with the selected committee members for introductions, committee discussions and answer any questions.
• After a consultant has been awarded the work, at least one meeting with the committee and the consultant will take place to meet and discuss community recommendations, provide initial suggestions and answer questions from the consultant.
• When the first draft of the trail study is completed and received, it will be distributed to the committee for review. A follow up meeting will be held to discuss and gather the opinions and suggestions from the group to be provided to the consultant for editing.
• Follow-up meetings will continue to be scheduled and held as needed after receipt of every new version of the study until the committee has agreed that it is at its best and final.
