Description
Flood Watch issued November 4 at 4:04AM HST until November 5 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH
TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County and The Big Island.
* WHEN...Through Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be
closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas
may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to
rapid runoff.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A trough of low pressure will bring a plume of deep tropical
moisture into the eastern end of the state today through
Tuesday. This combined with a disturbance aloft will set the
stage for heavy showers and the potential for a few
thunderstorms. The threat for heavy rain and flash flooding
will be highest over windward portions of Maui and the Big
Island.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
