***BURN BAN IN EFFECT***
After not having substantial rain for an extended period, falling leaves, extremely low relative humidity and virtually no rain in the extended forecast, I am enacting a total ban on open burning in Heidelberg Township effective tomorrow, October 25th, 2024 at 0700 hours. With the extremely dry conditions, there have already been several wildland fires in York County this week. Another factor in this decision is that our Brush Truck is currently out of service for much needed repairs. I consulted with the other Line Officers of the Fire Company as well as the Chairman of the Heidelberg Township Board of Supervisors and the input was unanimous.
This ban will be in effect until we have had substantial rainfall and it will be announced on this page, other Fire Company media as well as the Township website.
