Flash Flood Warning issued October 26 at 8:22AM HST until October 26 at 9:45AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI

At 822 AM HST, radar indicated that heavy rain over windward east
Maui was gradually diminishing, but pockets of moderate to heavy
rain were still producing rainfall rates near 1 inch per hour. Water
levels remain dangerously high in most east Maui streams.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible
in steep terrain.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Nahiku, Keanae, Kipahulu, Hana, Kaupo, Huelo, Makawao,
Haiku-Pauwela, Pauwela, Paia, Wailua, Haleakala National Park,
Kailua, and Hamoa.

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even
if they are currently dry.

The heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep terrain areas.
